Elena Lapadula is a Clinical Psychology doctorate student with a focus on child psychology and trauma working toward her PsyD at William James College in Newton, Massachusetts. Elena’s career in mental health began with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she then went on to work in therapeutic settings primarily with teenagers and adolescents with a wide range of emotional and behavioral difficulties.

During her doctorate training, she gained experience providing counseling and evaluations in a range of settings, including schools, hospitals, and residential homes. She has experience working with children, adults and older adults, supporting them through issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity development. Elena uses evidence based interventions such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and a psychodynamic approach in her practice. She believes one of the most important aspects of her work is building trusting relationships with clients so that they can have a safe place to explore and grow. Elena views therapy as a space where the client is able to share their experiences and find support in facing their challenges.
